Summer nights just got cooler at the Shipley Nature Center. Something’s happening every Thursday evening.



July 26 - 6 pm to 7 pm
Camp Tunes & Tall Tales  with  “The Shipley Trio” – Visitors to the Center are  in for a treat when the Shipley Trio ( Fritz, Don and Mickie)  perform Sing Alongs and Camp Stories.   There will be  S’mores too!

August 2 - 6 pm to 7 pm
Critters & Crafts! – Everyone’s favorite critter guy “George” returns by popular demand with his favorite critter friends. There will  be a free critter craft to make! Donations appreciated.

August 9 - 6 pm to 7 pm
The Raptors of Orange County – Peggy Chase returns with her  raptor friends. She will share her experiences and knowledge of these  birds.

August 16 - 4 pm to 8 pm
Let’s Get Moving – Help Shipley “Stay Green” by riding your bike, taking the bus or walking. See green transportation, including the latest technology from TOYOTA.   Play “Go Go-Golf” as you learn about alternative ways to get around.

August 23 - 6 pm to 8 pm
The Southern California Dulcimer Heritage group will perform in the amphitheater.

August 23 - 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm
Explore the Skies above Shipley – The Orange County Astronomers will help us explore nearby planets and star systems light years away.

August 30 - 6 pm to 7 pm
Successful Succulents! – Joann’s show and tell  will tell gardeners  what does and doesn’t work. Emphasis will be on succulents in containers. Bring your questions and notepads.  Many varieties of succulents will be for sale.
