Celebrate Huntington as the Surf City Run and the 108th Annual Parade Kick off the Fourth


The annual Surf City Run on Wednesday, July 4th is expected to have over 4,500 participants starting the day with a quick workout before the barbeques and picnics break out.
The Surf City Run is family-friendly with distances for family members of all ages. The first race, starting at 7:00 a.m. will be a Residents Division 5K Run/Walk. Presented by Mother's Market, this race is exclusively for residents of Huntington Beach. All others are invited to participate in the Open 5K, starting at 8:00 a.m. For the babies and parents, the Stroller Run 5K will go off at 8:15 a.m.


In addition, kids are invited to participate in the very popular Kids Run, scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. Kids 6 and under will run .5 miles, and ages 7-12 will run 1 mile. All kids receive an official race t-shirt and finisher medal!

After the family is done running, the Surf City Run Fitness Expo, open from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., offers a variety of food, entertainment, and music with views of the latest products in health and fitness.

THE 108TH HUNTINGTON BEACH PARADE keeps the celebration rolling, starting at 10 a.m. The parade follows a course that cruises down historic Pacific Coast Highway before finishing on Main Street.

The 2012 Huntington Beach Celebration is a great way to salute the 4th of July. Come on out for the Surf City Run and the Annual Parade, celebrating our nation’s birthday. The Run is managed by Spectrum Sports Management, Inc., and benefits the Huntington Beach Jr. Lifeguard Association.
