Ribbon Cutting Party: 4 to 6 pm, Wed., June 27 at SeaLegs, 20122 Beach Blvd. #105, in Huntington. Ribbon-Cutting, 4:30 pm.
Come on out and lift a glass. As they say at SeaLegs, "If you are lucky enough to drink wine by the sea....you are lucky enough."
It’s all happening at Beach and Atlanta in Huntington, where you will find a former Bank of America branch has become a cool wine bar with beach ease and nautical/Napa flair. Thanks to SeaLegs owners, Alicia Seibert-Whitney and Lisa Nonemaker, this may easily become your new Huntington hangout.
A $600,000 renovation by popular designer Kenneth Ussenko produced the sleek bar with 1500 bottle wine cellar and adjoining secluded lounge. There’s also a boutique wine store for last minute shopping.
Lisa said, “Basically the idea was to create something that people in Huntington Beach would call their own – a comfortable hangout. I know a lot of people my age and older who travel north or south to go out for a drink and a bite to eat. And I wanted something for women, a place where they’d want to have parties and bridal showers, without making it too uncomfortable for men.”
The results are obvious – everybody’s going to be happy at SeaLegs.
Wines : You will find the wines here that you never find in the supermarket. There are wines from Spain, especially the Rioja region, and Italian varietals, good California Cabs, Paul Hobbs, Sean Minor, Far Niente, Nickel & Nickel, Lancaster, and great Oregon Pinot Noirs.” As the 1500 bottle cellar evolves the owners predict you will be pleased with each new find.
Craftbeers: The ice cold craft beer selection offers popular brews like Allagash Black, Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale and Coronado Brewing Company Idiot IPA.
Tempting Appetizer Menu: Chef Alexander Dale, whose family owns Newport Beach’s legendary Villa Nova, has created all of the palate pleasers grouped in four ways: Red and White for easy pairing with the perfect wine, Sweets and Greens. The menu includes sausage sliders, beef tenderloin, crispy onions, jumbo lump crab cakes, select cheeses and sinful desserts. From $6 to $14.
