After the Happy Hour specials of 11am-7pm have ended, good times and great deals still continue down at Tumbleweeds. After 20 years, this hot spot is still providing a worthwhile night out. Conveniently located on Beach Boulevard and Atlanta, Tumbleweeds is in the midst of a shopping and entertainment center that is receiving an attractive outside makeover. Over the span of 8 years or so, many of my open weekend nights have been spent down at this entertaining location. Tumbleweeds is a local rustic restaurant/bar with a cozy light setting and is a good set-up for a number of reasons. There is no cover charge to get in, their drinks are affordably priced and they serve food until midnight. And this food is not just average bar food, they actually put care into their menu with a variety of choices including healthy selections such as spinach and tomato wraps. They also have a number of pool tables and plenty of friendly people that come in for a great time as the night progresses. Whether I bring a friend, or two, or more or just go alone and see what happens, I have had good luck every time I’ve shown up. What I know Tumbleweeds best for is their awesome selection of cover bands!
This Saturday night, June 23rd, super talented cover band, Hollywood Blonde happens to be back at Tumbleweeds where I love to see them best. Female fronted by the lovely Diana Grace, this band will rock the stage with incredible energy and style playing hits from the 70s to today. Each band member displays their own visual and ear pleasing experience that comes together in obvious synchronicity stemming from the likeable integration for one another. Jon Knox backs it all up with his on point compelling drumming experience. Jeff Bennett’s badass sunglasses at night image power plays the bass. Dave Tibbet’s impressive guitar sound lights up the place. Not only does Diana lead the vocals with her amazing sound, but the guys add some excellent singing as well. This tight united band makes people want to get out on the roomy dance floor and move!
I have walked in on random nights seeing other rocking cover bands that Tumbleweeds showcases such as Thank U Drive Thru, Have Another Monkey and The Blast. No matter what night you plan to show up, there is bound to be some great entertainment. Not only are there cover bands creating a fun night out, but Tumbleweeds also has three nights in a row of karaoke! And one more thing, they have brunch cocktail specials on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Cure a hangover or start the weekend morning with a Mimosa or Bloody Mary, have some great food and before you know it, you’re hanging out again for another great night of entertainment!
