Mother's Day

Three days to Mother’s Day…do YOU know where you’re taking your mother?

If not, fret not! You still have time to plan the perfect day for Mom.

If you’d like to treat your mom to a swanky meal, take her to the Hyatt on PCH and Beach for gourmet food, ocean views and the light sounds of live jazz. Mom will have her pick of a variety of treats, including made-to-order omelets, sushi and desserts. It’s $78 for adults, $68 for seniors, $25 for kids under 13, and free for children under 5. The two morning seatings are fully booked, so if you want to take Mom here, be sure to call for 3pm reservations before it fills up: 714) 845-4885.

Another alternative is to take Mom over to Old World Village (7561 Center Ave) for a Hawaiian-themed brunch, complete with a Polynesian dance show at noon. The food here will include roast pig and tropical fruits; as well as bacon, eggs, cold cuts and desserts. The champagne and orange juice will flow freely, so enjoy! Purchase beforehand and you’ll save $4; at the door, adults are $40, seniors $36, and kids 6-12 $20 (these prices include tax and tip). Be sure to visit www.oldworld.ws for a $5 gift card you can print out to use at the brunch. Call 714) 895-8020 for reservations.

Don’t want to break the bank? Take Mom to Lake Park (12th and Lake St.) for a beautiful day out at a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Lions Club. Proceeds go to benefit the Therapeutic Riding Center, so not only will everyone enjoy a tasty and affordable breakfast, your mom will be impressed by your caring nature! It is $4 a person, and children under 7 eat free. The kids can enjoy face painting and balloons while grownups can relax to music and opportunity drawings.

Whatever you do, be sure to treat your Mom like a queen!
