Check Out the OC Roller Girl Action This Saturday!

Looking for a positive powerful adrenalized scene to rev up your Saturday night? Then The Rinks is the place to be. Sure to be exciting, the first two bouts of this Saturday’s September 8th event feature home teams competing for the chance to be in the first ever Home Team Championship taking place on November 17th. These home teams consist of Crash Test Bunnies vs. Rolling Knockouts and The Psycho Ex-Girlfriends vs. the Heebie Jeebies. All of the home teams are beyond the fresh meat level (basic beginner level) and have been holding all their games so far this year at the Huntington Beach Rinks’ flat level track. These first two bouts are high intensity just for local team skaters. But the third and final bout of the night features the travel OC team of Blockwork Orange facing off against the Hollywood Scarlets coming from the L.A. Angel City Derby Girls. These travel teams consist of fiercely competitive, top-level skaters!

This is such a great venue to come and have an entertaining Saturday night out. Filled with music and action, it’s a dinnertime show! Either bring your own eats or purchase some grub at one of the two food trucks Panfiniti or Chef Joe Youkhan’s Tasting Spoon. In addition there is a snack bar inside and one of the OC Roller Girls sponsors, Blackmarket Bakery is offering delicious desserts for purchase.

The tickets offered are VIP and GA for all ages. VIP includes cushioned bleacher like seats where ticket holders can eat. For GA, it is located near the rink so food is not allowed there to ensure cleanliness of the rink but there is the option, as many do, to stand and watch while eating and drinking. The ticket price covers all 3 bouts and its best to order online and pick up at will call to avoid being turned away for a sold out event. If you’re ordering online be sure to bring ID to pick up tickets at will call. If wanting a physical ticket, there is the option to purchase a ticket at the OC Roller Skates shop in Santa Ana. And if you choose to stop by the shop, there are a number of fan items available for purchase. These fan items will also be available for purchase at this Saturday’s venue along with other vendors. The event ticket proceeds goes to The Rinks, chair rentals, sound system, entertainment and training costs for the teams. The OC Roller Girls also contribute to a number of charitable events throughout the year.

Doors open at 4:40pm and the first bout starts an hour later, second bout at 6:40 and the final bout at 8:00pm.

For more information on everything mentioned here in the article, check out the OC Roller Girls website where there is even more detail such as the team members names and how to join a team if interested:
