Calling Dads, Grads & All to Chili at the Beach!

Can’t believe it’s already June of 2012! Seems like it was just a few months ago that I walked around Main Street sampling some good chili. And here it is, back again, this Saturday, June 16th on Father’s Day weekend is the Chili Cook Off! This event is a good way to get out with the family and/or friends and enjoy the beginning of summer. And this year, there will be salsa tasting!

The 5th annual Surf City Chili at the Beach is free to attend. There are ranging ticket prices for tasting but the tickets to taste all 26 chili and 8 salsa team recipes cost $15 including the chance to vote on the best chili!

The judges will also be conducting a blindfolded tasting contest. There will be awards given in the following categories:

-Best Tasting Chili
-Most Enthusiastic Booth
-Most Creative Chili Name
-Best Salsa

In addition, Landshark Lager is sponsoring a beer garden located on 5th Street aka the Strand by The Shorebreak Hotel. A Kid Zone will be located on Walnut & Main Street. Two live music stages will be set up on Pacific Coast Highway & Main Street and Orange & Main Street.
The event runs from 11am-6pm.
