Huntington Beach is home to seven Carl's Jr. Restaurants whose owner CKE Restaurants, Inc. announced in February it had agreed to be acquired by the successful private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners. THL has been a major investment firm for many years, with holdings that include ARAMARK, CLEAR CHANNEL, Dunkin' Donuts & Baskin-Robbins, among many others.
But now there is an investigation as to an alleged unfair take over. It seems CKE SHAREHOLDERS feel their shares are worth more, and the offer was taken a bit too soon.
But the burgers will be flipped, and the those shakes will still be stirred...as Carl Karcher looks down at it all...
