Hats off to the Chamber this year! The decision to switch from August to July due to the Centennial's month of July's celebration of business, was a smart move. The event also marks Exec. Director Joyce Riddell's last Legacy, Athena and Outstanding Citizen award program, as she will retire later this year (DETAILS COMING!)
As far as the recipients, the three Legacy inductees, if you will, were Ruby Palace Chinese Cuisine on their 30 remarkable years on Beach Blvd; Bartco Lighting (for businesses with more than 15 employees) and the Sugar Shack.
The Athena Award -- recognizing woman in business -- fell to Linda Gallagher of Heritage Memorial Services. Dennis and Linda brought along a friend, Robert Culp, of I SPY fame! Dennis is incoming HB Chamber Board Chair. The Gallaghers have embraced HB for over ten year.
The resume of Mary Louise Shattuck is so amazing. Before her involvement in the Centennial, this Outstanding Citizen 2009 recipient was just that...OUTSTANDING!
Barbara Delgleize ( current HB Chamber Board Chair) was in top form as the Master of Ceremonies, as was Mr. Gallagher, as the presenter of the Legacy..and let's not forget the Centennial Mayor, Keith Bohr, as he presented the Outstanding Citizen Award.
