HB Chrysler Jeep Saved!

As part of its plan to survive, Chrysler LLC filed a motion in U.S. Bankruptcy court on Thursday, May 14, outlining its plan to close 789 dealerships. That’s roughly 25 percent of its fleet! The good news is that Huntington Beach Chrysler Jeep, which has been located at 16701 Beach Boulevard for 40 years, won’t be affected. “We were never actually concerned,” reveals the dealership’s manager, Rick Evans. “I’m sure they had a large number of criteria, and we likely made the cut on all of the [them].” Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case for North County Jeep in Escondido, CA, which is definitely on the chopping block. Evans confirms that our local Chrysler Jeep dealership is number one in California and even in this difficult economy, continues to perform well. “We were up 70 percent for the first quarter sales compared to last year,” he enthuses. GM is set to announce its list of closures next. Check back here to see which, if any, of those Huntington Beach dealerships will be affected.
